The principles of the Monopoly game rules brought home a powerful lesson for me, that something as serious as developing a business strategy can be fun!
We all know that the unashamed purpose for playing Monopoly (the game, that is) is to be the winner, to end up being the richest player in the game.
However, in real life you dont have to break your back to be the wealthiest player in town. You just have to be one of the many financially successful players in business. Rather than striving to be the top dog, Id rather be enjoying my business journey and prioritizing whats important in my life, than hell-bent on being the king of the mountain.
The REAL purpose of playing the game really is to have fun while you are playing the game against the other players.
As I noticed how much of that wisdom is true, I began to align it to my own business strategy! And once I did, one powerful thing became very clear to my thinking; the rules in the game were perfectly suited to become my proven-paths to enjoying my business, as I play to win!
I also made another discovery as I stayed on track with the Monopoly game rules that I could actually relax a bit in my attitude toward my business, like I never did before! The bonus to that is that now my wife loves that new side of me. Thats a big win in itself! Have fun as you follow the game rules to make money. Outside of that is just not worth it!
